Romualdez eyeing another term as Leyte representative

House Speaker Martin Romualdez told reporters on Wednesday that he has no plans to run for senator in the 2025 elections. 

“Siguro ano mananatili muna ako sa 1st district of Leyte,” said Romualdez when asked by reporters during an ambush interview.

(Maybe I’ll just stay in the 1st district of Leyte.)

“I’ll just do my work kasi marami pang kailangan tapusin sa [there’s still a lot to be done in the] 1st district ng Leyte,” he added.

Romualdez also shrugged off questions about the possibility of running for President in the 2028 elections.

“Matagal pa ‘yun [that’s still far],” Romualdez said.

Romualdez is the cousin of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
