DOJ signs MOU with FFCCCII for deportation of Chinese nationals

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate the deportation of Chinese nationals who are detained in the country.

Under the MOU, the FFCCCII will assist the government by providing transportation arrangements for the Chinese nationals once they are cleared by the DOJ for deportation.

The DOJ, meanwhile, is obligated to ensure full compliance of the detained Chinese nationals with the relevant procedures and processes on deportation.

"With your support and assistance, not only will we be able to decongest our Immigration detention facilities, but we would also encourage the Filipino-Chinese community to take a bigger role towards fulfilling our national goals," he said.

Andres said there are more than 500 individuals who are ready for deportation.
