Filipino soldiers stand their ground at Ayungin Shoal

"Hey, stop! This is our territory," a Filipino soldier shouted at members of the China Coast Guard, as shown by video posted by GMA Integrated News' JP Soriano on X.

The video also shows China Coast Guard personnel using physical force, weapons, sirens, and bright lights to prevent Filipino troops from delivering supplies during a humanitarian mission to BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal on June 17.

In a separate post on X, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said, "Despite facing overwhelming numbers and harassment from the CCG, Filipino troops valiantly fought back and defended their position. The AFP maintains professionalism and steadfast commitment to uphold international law and preserve peace in the region."

The AFP released photos of members of the China Coast Guard brandishing bladed and pointed weapons at Filipino troops on a routine rotation and resupply mission to the Ayungin Shoal on Monday. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
