VP Sara Duterte's resignation letter as DepEd chief
Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday submitted her letter of resignation as Department of Education (DepEd) secretary and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) vice chairperson, addressed to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In her letter, Duterte stated that her resignation would be effective on July 19, 2024.
"For a proper and orderly turn-over, I have prepared a 30-day transition plan for all the nine strands in the Central Office, as well as for the different Boards and councils chaired by DepEd and SEAMEO," she wrote.
The Philippines, through Duterte, is currently the president of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
Duterte also thanked Marcos, her runningmate in the 2022 national elections, for the opportunity to have served as a member of his Cabinet.
"I shall remain of service to the country through the various programs, activities, and projects of the Office of the Vice President," she added. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
