Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit PH on Thursday
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto will be visiting the Philippines on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Szijjarto official visit is part of Szijjarto's official tour of Southeast Asia.
He will meet Secretary Enrique A. Manalo upon his visit, which will also serve as the 8th iteration of the Philippines-Hungary Political Consultations.
He will also meet with Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual of the Department of Trade and Industry and Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac of the Department of Migrant Workers which will highlight the ongoing celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
It is said that Hungary is a key partner of the Philippines in the areas of education, water technology, agriculture, culture, and sports.
"The two countries' relations are marked by a shared commitment to democracy, rule of law, and compliance with international law," DFA said.
This will be Szijjarto's third trip to the Philippines in his current role.
In 2017, Szijjarto met Foreign Affairs Secretary Manalo while he engaged with Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. in 2020. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
