UP, Ateneo, DLSU move up in 2025 QS World University Rankings


The top 3 Philippine universities all leveled up in the 2025 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings based on results released on Wednesday.

The University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and De La Salle University
improved their standings among over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems.

UP ranks 336, an improvement from last year’s 404 spot.

Ateneo’s ranking also went up from 536 to 516 while La Salle ascended from 681-690 to 641-650.

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of San Carlos experienced a drop in the rankings.

UST’s ranking descended from 801-850 to 851-900 while the University of San Carlos, which debuted on the list last year, dropped from 1201-1400 to 1401+.

The National University of Singapore is the top-performing university in Asia.

It was followed by Peking University in China and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is QS's top-performing university worldwide.

Imperial College London and University of Oxford rounded up the second and third spots.

QS is a London-based higher education network analyst. Indicators of the world university ranking include sustainability, employment outcomes and international research network.—RF, GMA Integrated News
