PAOCC to file tax evasion raps vs. Mayor Alice Guo
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is seeking to file tax evasion complaints against Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and others, spokesperson Winston Casio said Monday.
Guo is being questioned before the Senate over her identity and links to a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in the town.
“As far as we are concerned po, may mga nakita kaming violations niya… mga administrative, actually. Mga tax evasion charges kakasuhan po natin siya,” he said in an ambush interview.
(As far we are concerned, we saw many violations… it was administrative, really. We will file tax evasion complaints against her.)
“Maaaring sampahan din po namin siya ng mga violation ng securities regulation code, maging ‘yung mga opisyales nung Hong Sheng, at saka Zun Yuan, Baofu,” he added.
(We can also file complaints for violation of the Securities Regulation Code, as well as officials of Hong Sheng, and Zun Yuan, [and] Baofu.)
Asked how much taxes were involved, Casio said he could not yet quantify it.
“Pero malaki po. Kita mo naman ang lifestyle ni mayora,” he said.
(But it’s a lot. Just look at the mayor’s lifestyle.)
According to Casio, they will no longer file a complaint for violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act against Guo as there is already one.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government previously lodged graft complaints against Guo over her alleged involvement in the POGO hub.
