Wen Yi Lin not Alice Guo's biological mother, ex-consultant claims

Bambam City Mayor Alice Guo is not the daughter of Chinese national Wen Yi Lin, the former consultant of the embattled mayor claimed over the weekend.

According to Guo’s former consultant Nancy Gamo, Lin Wen Yi was only a partner of Guo’s father.

“Hindi po siya ang totoong nanay ni Mayora Alice. Partner lang po siya ng tatay niya. Kasama nila sa mga biyahe nila kung saan-saan, pero hindi po siya nanay ni Alice,” Gamo said in an interview on GMA Super Radyo dzBB aired on 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday.

(She is not the real mother of Mayor Alice. She is just the partner of the father. She would tag along on their travels, but she is not the mother of Alice.)

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian earlier on Sunday challenged Guo to undergo DNA testing with Wen Yi Lin, also called Winnie, as he earlier raised the possibility the Chinese national could be Guo’s biological mother.

Guo earlier claimed that her mother is a Filipino named Amelia Leal, but the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said they have no birth records of such a person.

“Kilala ko ang pagkatao ni mayor. Matulungin ‘yan, hindi ‘yan plinanta lang para mag-spy,” Gamo said.

(I know the personality of the mayor. She is helpful, she was not planted to be a spy.)

In the same interview, Gamo mirrored Guo's repeated claims that she grew up on a farm.

This comes as Guo is being investigated for her alleged involvement in an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO) hub, and her identity as a Filipino being questioned. The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) earlier said it may file a quo warranto petition questioning her right to hold public office.—Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA Integrated News
