Marcos greets VP Sara on her birthday, lauds her hard work, love for PH
SINGAPORE - President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Friday greeted Vice President Sara Duterte on her 46th birthday, highlighting the latter's hard work and love for the country.
''Happy Birthday, Inday Sara! Pinalalakas ng ‘yong sipag at pagmamahal sa bayan ang ating mga kabataan at kaguruan. Ipagpatuloy lang natin ito para sa isang matatag na edukasyon sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas!'' Marcos said.
(Happy Birthday, Inday Sara! Your hard work and love for the country strengthen the youth and our teachers. Let us continue this for a strong education system under the Bagong Pilipinas!)
Marcos is in Singapore for his keynote address at the 2024 IISS Shangri-La Dialogue. Duterte is the country's caretaker, together with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, while the President is on a working visit.
Duterte was Marcos' running mate in Eleksyon 2022.
First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos earlier admitted having ill feelings toward the Vice President after her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, called her husband "bangag" or high on drugs.
She said she took offense when she saw the Vice President laughing over the former President's remark at a rally in Davao City in late January to oppose efforts to amend the 1987 Constitution.
