No Guo at address Alice's father declared to BIR

No person who went by the name Guo lived in the area which the father of Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo declared in his tax documents as his residence.

According to Mav Gonzales' report on "24 Oras," a person at the lot which coincided with the number of the father's exact address said no Guo nor a person named Wenyi Lin lived there over the past decade.

A check with the barangay also showed that only warehouses had been at the said property.

GMA Integrated News also went to the Guos' address in Valenzuela indicated in the documents Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian showed on Wednesday, and was told that there was also no person with the name at the property.

No relatives of Bamban Mayor Alice Guo or Wenyi Lin have lived at her declared addresses, according to a 24 Oras report by Mav Gonzales on Thursday.

The exact lot number of the declared address of Mayor Guo’s father to the BIR was nowhere to be found, while only bodegas and warehouses were found in the same Barangay.

An individual living within the lot also stated that no Guo or Wenyi Lin has lived in the area within the past decade.

There were also no Guos that lived in the Valenzuela address found in a document presented to Senator Win Gatchalian.

Further concerns and questions regarding the mayor’s identity will be discussed with several intelligence agencies when senators resume their hearings on the alleged illegal POGO operations in Bamban.

The POGO compound raided by police stood on a property that her company owned previously. 

Guo's identity has been under scrutiny after senators found out that her birth was registered late and that she had no school records.

She had told the Senate committee that her father was Chinese and that her mother was a Filipino named Alice Leal Guo.

However, there was no birth record in the Philippine Statistics Authority of the mayor's father Jian Zhong Guo, and Amelia Leal Guo.

Senator Loren Legarda reiterated the importance of finding out how foreigners were able to secure Philippine birth certificates.

“Nabigyan daw sila sa mga satellite offices ng DFA na konsulado sa Pilipinas dahil meron ang mga Non-Filipinos who are Chinese nationals ng Philippine birth certificate. Noong tinanong ko papaanong nangyari ‘yun, galing daw sa PSA. ‘Yan ay question mark or kung meron bang ibang source, Saan? Bakit? Papaano? Kaya hindi dapat pabayaan ang isyu [na] ‘yan. It’s every inch [a] very serious national security concern,” said Legarda.

Earlier, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian presented documents that he said made him surmise that a certain Wenyi Lin was the mayor's biological mother.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros also presented documents showing Wenyi Lin as Guo’s associate for a total of seven family businesses, along with her father and siblings.

The documents also show that all associates lived in one home, while sources claim that her mother was called “Winnie.”

However, a question was raised regarding Lin’s 1971 date of birth, which would make him 15 years old during Guo’s birth and 13 years old at the birth of her older sibling.

"Magkakamag-anak ba silang lahat? Is this one big, dubious family business? As Senator Win (Gatchalian) also noted, travel records show that Jian Zhong Guo and Lin Wen Yi traveled together at least 170 times in the span of six years,” Hontiveros said in a statement.

Hontiveros said that this could not have been the first time Guo has lied to the Senate, calling back to her claims of not knowing her siblings, and said that uncovering her mother’s identity is crucial. —Vince Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
