Hontiveros releases documents on possible identity of Alice Guo’s mother

Senator Risa Hontiveros on Thursday released documents showing links between Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and a certain Lin Wen Yi, who is suspected of being her Chinese mother. 

The documents showed that Lin is an incorporator in Guo's businesses.

Hontiveros said that Lin, Guo’s siblings Sheila Guo and Siemen Guo, and her father Jian Zhong Guo are co-incorporators in seven of Guo's businesses. 

"Magkakamag-anak ba silang lahat? Is this one big, dubious family business? As Senator Win (Gatchalian) also noted, travel records show that Jian Zhong Guo and Lin Wen Yi traveled together at least 170 times in the span of six years,” Hontiveros said in a statement.

“Business partner lang nga ba o baka asawa talaga?,” she asked.

GMA News Online has reached out to Guo's camp but it has yet to reply as of posting time. 

Guo previously claimed that her mother was a helper in her father’s household. Her mother also supposedly left after she was born.

“Alang-alang sa aking mga kababayan na nagtitiwala at nagmamahal sa akin ay buong tapang ko pong sasabihin na ako po’y isang love child ng mahal kong ama sa aming kasambahay,” said Guo.

(For my countrymen who trust and love me, I bravely admit that I am a love child of my father with his maid.)

“Na ako po ay iniwan ng aking biological mother bata pa ako noon. At ako’y pinalaki at itinatago sa loob ng isang farm," she added.

(My biological mother left me when I was a child. I was raised and kept strictly hidden inside a farm.)

Hontiveros, meanwhile, said that based on the document, Lin may have given birth to Guo while she was 15 years-old. 

"1971 ang birth year nitong Lin Wen Yi. Kung siya ang tunay na ina, 15 years old lang siya nang iniluwal si Alice. At kung siya din ang ina ni Sheila na aminado si Alice na kapatid niya, aba 13 years old lang siya nung niluwal si Sheila?," the senator said. 

(The birth year of this Lin Wen Yi is 1971. If she is the real mother, she was only 15 years old when Alice was born. And if she is also the mother of Sheila, did she give birth at 13 years old?)

"Unless ito ay gawa-gawa lang lahat," added Hontiveros.

(Unless all of these are lies.)

Hontiveros emphasized that it's not the first time Guo supposedly lied as she initially said that she did not know her siblings. Documents later showed that they traveled together.

“She has been lying through her teeth the past two hearings. Ang daming imbento, halos wala nang lumalabas na totoo sa bibig niya,” Hontiveros said.  

(Rarely does she speak the truth. She has been fabricating a lot of things.)

The senator further said that the identity of Guo’s mother is crucial.

“Kung Chinese pala ang ina, at Chinese umano ang ama, mapapatunayan na hindi nga talaga Pilipino si Mayor,” Hontiveros said.

(If she really is Chinese, and the father is Chinese, then we cannot prove that she is a Filipino.)

Apart from her identity, Guo is also being scrutinized in relation to the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, Tarlac in March.

Guo has denied involvement in the operations of the POGO hub.

“I deny in the strongest terms all of these allegations of criminal conduct," Guo said back in April —VAL, GMA Integrated News
