PH receives 25 tons of donated dates from Saudi Arabia
In a gesture of solidarity with the Filipino people, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has presented a generous gift of 25 tons of dates to the Philippines, symbolizing the strong bond between the two nations.
During a ceremonial turnover, officials from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of the Middle East and African Affairs, and Philippine Red Cross received the dates, a well-known fruit and staple food in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries.
Leading the turnover ceremony was Ambassador Hisham S.A. Alqahtani of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, accompanied by officials from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and the King Salman Center.
"With the blessing of the Almighty Allah, we hold this event every year to highlight the importance of the bilateral friendship between our two friendly countries and people. This occasion signifies the keen concern of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Philippine government and its friendly people," Alqahtani said.
"I would like to extend my profound thanks and gratitude to all of you here for taking the time to be a part of the annual turnover ceremony. I wish you all unending success and blessings," he added.
