Aghon keeps strength; Signal No. 1 over portions of Aurora, Isabela

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over portions of Aurora and Isabela provinces as Typhoon Aghon maintains strength moving northeastward over the Philippine Sea, according to PAGASA.

In its 11 p.m. weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said Aghon is less likely to bring significant amount of rainfall within the next three days.

Still under Signal No. 1 are the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran) and the eastern portion of Isabela (Dinapigue, Palanan, Divilacan).

Winds of 39-61 km/h may be expected in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours in these areas.

"With Aghon moving further away from the country, all hoisted wind signals may be lifted in the next bulletin," PAGASA said.

It added it is likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon or evening as a typhoon.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
