Ferdinand Guerrero, convicted in Vhong Navarro case, transferred to BuCor

Ferdinand Guerrero, one of the individuals convicted for the illegal detention of TV host and actor Vhong Navarro in 2014, was transferred to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Friday.

"BuCor received today Ferdinand Guerrero,” the agency said in a statement.

BuCor said Guerrero, who surrendered to authorities on Thursday, was accompanied by his lawyers.

Guerrero surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) days after a Taguig City court found him, Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and Simeon Raz guilty of serious illegal detention for ransom.

The court sentenced the four to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment.

Raz and Cornejo were immediately committed following the promulgation, which they personally attended. Lee surrendered to the NBI hours after the promulgation.

According to BuCor, Guerrero was received at the reception and diagnostic center of the New Bilibid Prison for initial interview and checkup.

“He will be placed at Quarantine Cell for a period of five days with no visiting privileges, followed by diagnostic procedures which include medical, sociological, psychological, educational and classification processes for 55 days,” it said.

Following this, Guerrero will be admitted to the NBP. —Joahna Lei Casilao/KBK, GMA Integrated News
