Angkas boosts emergency response services
Motorcycle taxi provider Angkas, operated by DBDOYC Inc., is expanding its emergency response services to provide 24/7 assistance in more areas across the country.
Currently, Angkas' emergency response team (ERT) is active in the National Capital Region, Cagayan de Oro, and Cebu City.
In a statement, the company said it plans to expand the reach of the ERT to other locations.
Angkas said enhancements to its ERT services include 24/7 coverage by emergency medical technician (EMT) responders to achieve an emergency response time of 15 to 30 minutes.
"We've broadened our training, acquired new equipment, and refined our skills to better handle potential emergencies," said Angkas ERT lead Marlon Abilong.
"The program collaborates with numerous accessible hospitals and ambulance networks, and includes certified EMTs skilled in performing onsite responses that include real-time triaging and interventions," added Abilong.
Angkas said its ERT also facilitates insurance procurement for stakeholders when needed.
To avail of Angkas' ERT services, the company said the rider or passenger should call its 24/7 emergency hotline (Globe: 0917 3264 527 or Smart: 0918 9264 527). A support team will then identify the location and assess the situation to dispatch an EMT that will provide immediate care.
Angkas said it has clinics in Cainta and Makati, where check-ups are available for bikers and families. This also includes basic life support and first aid training.
"Our Angkas Buhay patrols [are available in] Metro Manila, and should we encounter anyone requiring medical attention due to an emergency, we are ready to assist," said Abilong.
Angkas said it currently maintains a safety record of "99.997%." — VDV, GMA Integrated News
