BI willing to submit Bamban Mayor Guo's travel records for investigation

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will submit the travel records of Bamban Mayor Alice Guo if they are subpoenaed, BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said Tuesday.

Sandoval made the remark when asked about the travel records of Guo, whose nationality is being questioned by Senator Risa Hontiveros.

“I am unable to share it on air because of data privacy issues,” Sandoval said in an interview on state-run PTV.

“Kung saka-sakali pong kakailanganin ito for any kind of investigation, the bureau naman po is willing to submit it po to the appropriate agencies once ipa-subpoena po ito sa atin,” she added.

(If this is needed for any kind of investigation, the bureau is willing to submit it to the appropriate agencies once we are subpoenaed.)

She said the travel records of all foreign nationals or Filipinos are in the agency’s centralized database.

Guo is being questioned in the Senate in relation to the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, Tarlac, in March.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian alleged Guo’s possible involvement with the POGO hub, citing a Sangguniang Bayan Resolution indicating that the mayor—who was a private citizen at the time—supposedly applied for the license to operate Hongsheng Gaming Technology Inc.

Guo has denied involvement in the operations of the POGO hub. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
