Marcos' Partido Federal in talks with 3 parties ahead of Eleksyon 2025
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), is in talks with at least three political parties ahead of the mid-term senatorial elections in 2025.
South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, the president of the PFP, said the party is even looking to merge with one of the groups.
''Mayroon na tayong tatlong national parties na tinitingnan. Mayroong for alliance, mayroong for coalition at 'yung isa sa pinakaimportante na tinitingnan ngayon ay isang national political party na magmemerge talaga sa Partido Federal, pag sinabi mong merging, pagiisahin na,'' Tamayo told reporters at the sidelines of the oathtaking of the new members of the PFP in Manila.
(We are looking at three national parties. One is for an alliance, one is for a coalition and another to merge with the Partido Federal. When you say 'merge,' it means the parties will become one.)
Asked if the PFP was talking to the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), the party chaired by Vice President Sara Duterte, Tamayo said, ''Sa ngayon, hindi.''
(Not at present.)
He said that the alliance of the PFP and the HNP was for the 2022 national elections
Tamayo said the PFP would build a new alliance for 2025.
Tamayo said the UniTeam, the coalition that catapulted Marcos and Duterte to power, continued to exist. —NB, GMA Integrated News
