Liza Marcos on VP Sara: ‘Bad shot na ‘yan sa ’kin’
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has admitted having ill feelings towards Vice President Sara Duterte after the latter’s family made drug accusations against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
In a teaser video for "TUNE in kay Tunying," the First Lady said she was hurt when Duterte attended a rally where the President was called "bangag" (high on illegal drugs).
“For me, nasaktan ako because my husband will do everything to protect you. You ran together ‘di ba—sama sama tayong babangon muli,” Liza Marcos told journalist Anthony Taberna.
(I was hurt because my husband will do everything to protect you. You ran together during the elections, right—we will rise together.)
“Pupunta ka sa rally, tatawagin ‘yung Presidente mong ‘bangag,’ ‘di ba, you’re going to laugh? Tama ba ‘yan? Even Leni [Robredo] never did that,” she added.
(You went to a rally, then the President gets called bangag, and then you’re going to laugh? Is that right? Even Leni [Robredo] never did that.)
Sought for her side as regards the First Lady's remarks, the Vice President said, "No comment. Thank you."
It could be recalled that in January, Sara’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, called Marcos "bangag" during a prayer rally in Davao City.
The ex-President also alleged that Marcos was on the watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) — a claim already denied by PDEA.
The Philippine National Police also said that it has not seen any document or list stating that the President is involved in illegal drugs.
A month later, former President Duterte backtracked on his statements against Marcos and denied accusing the latter of being into illegal drugs.
Asked if there is no chance of reconciliation between her and Sara, Liza Marcos said, “Bad shot na ‘yan sa ’kin (she’s already a bad shot to me).” —AOL/NB, GMA Integrated News
