Quiboloy tells Marcos: Guarantee that US won't meddle, then I'll face cases in PH

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Saturday said he was ready to face his cases in the country provided that the Marcos administration give him written assurance that the United States would not interfere in his legal battle in the Philippines.

"Bigyan ninyo ako ng garantiya na hindi mangingialam ang mga puti sa kasong ito sa Pilipinas. Hindi mangingialam ang FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), ang CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), ang US Embassy," Quiboloy said in an audio statement reported by SMNI News.

(Give me a guarantee that the Americans will not interfere in this case in the Philippines, that the FBI, the CIA, the US Embassy will not meddle.)

"Bigyan ako ng garantiya ng Presidente ng Pilipinas. Bigyan ako ng garantiya ng secretary of Department of Justice, [Crispin] Boying Remulla. Written po 'yan ha, written... na hindi mangingialam ang Amerikano at walang mangyayaring extraordinary rendition. Ako po ay lilitaw at haharapin ko ang lahat ng kasong iyan kahit saan ninyo dalhin dito sa Pilipinas," Quiboloy added.

(Give me the guarantee of the President of the Philippines. Give me the guarantee of Secretary of the Department of Justice Boying Remulla. That should be written... that there will be no American interference and no extraordinary rendition. If they oblige, I will appear and deal with all these cases, no matter where you bring me in the Philippines.)

Quiboloy also said that guarantees would be provided by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Medardo de Lemos, and the head of PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Police Major General Romeo Caramat Jr.

According to a ''24 Oras Weekend'' report by John Consulta on Saturday, Quiboloy alleged that all actions being undertaken to arrest him were to ensure that he would be taken by the US.

“Hindi ako umattend sa kanilang mga hearing kasi pinoprotektahan ko ‘yung sarili ko. Kasi ang alam ko [na] lahat ng ito ay patibong lamang. Upang ang endgame ay magawa nga nila na ako ay ilagay sa kamay ng mga puti,” he said.

(I did not attend their hearings because I was protecting myself. Because I know this is all a trap. So their endgame would be to put me in the hands of the Americans)

He also urged Senator Risa Hontiveros to put a stop to ''bogus hearings'' in the Senate.

“Bakit gumawa ng scenario ‘yang si Risa Hontiveros? Nagbayad sila ng mga bayarang former worker na mga sinungaling na mga witnesses. Puro kasinungalingan ang pinagsasabi nila at pinipilit ako ni Risa Hontiveros na umattend sa moro moro at bogus na hearing na ‘yon,” he added.

(Why did Risa Hontiveros create a scenario? They bribed former workers who are lying witnesses. All they said were lies, and Risa Hontiveros is forcing me to attend a bogus hearing)

He said he would rather not be caught alive.

“Ako po, pag nahuli ninyo, hindi ako magpapahuli ng buhay. Barilin na lang ninyo ako,” he said.

(If you catch me, you can’t catch me alive. Shoot me instead.)

GMA News Online sought comments from Malacañang, the DOJ, the PNP, and Hontiveros regarding Quiboloy's statements.

'Extraordinary rendition'

The KOJC leader had previously accused the United States government, allegedly with help from Philippine government officials, of plotting to "eliminate" him through rendition in connection with the cases he is facing in the US.

With rendition, a suspect with an outstanding arrest warrant is forcibly abducted from another state, according to Oxford's definition.

In his new message, Quiboloy said that with the aid of the Marcos administration, America's CIA and FBI are eyeing to conduct an "extraordinary rendition" on him instead of extradition.

"Dapat malaman ninyo na itong kaso kong ito, complicated sapagkat dalawang bansa ang nagkasabwat. Bansang puti at bansang Pilipino ang nagsabwatan para ako'y damputin. At ang endgame ay extraordinary rendition, which may be kidnapping and which may be assassination," he said.

(The public should know that my case is complicated because the two countries, America and the Philippines, are conspiring to capture me. The end-game is an extraordinary rendition, which may be kidnapping and which may be assassination.)

Quiboloy said he will be willing to shed blood in his own country rather than fall into the hands of Americans.

Authorities have served the arrest warrant by a regional trial court in Davao City against Quiboloy and five others over charges of child abuse.

Four of the co-accused turned themselves over to authorities, while another, Cresente Canada, was arrested by NBI agents. All five have posted bail but Quiboloy remains at-large.

Last Thursday, Quiboloy was not at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City but the warrant was handed to the administrator in the area. Quiboloy was also not at the group's prayer mountain in Barangay Tamayong nor at his resort in Samal Island.

The Senate and House of Representatives have also issued subpoenas against Quiboloy, summoning him to separate hearings. —  with Jiselle Anne Casucian/VDV/VBL, GMA Integrated News
