Traffic building up on Metro Manila-bound roads as Holy Week travelers return
Traffic bound for Metro Manila is starting to become heavy on several major roads on Sunday afternoon with the increased number of vehicles returning from the provinces during the Holy Week.
As of 2:05 p.m., the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation said vehicles along San Fernando Southbound are moving approximately 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, while there’s an approximately 300-meter traffic buildup along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) ramp headed to NLEX.
Other areas such as Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue Bocaue, Karuhatan, Meycauayan North and Southbound, and San Fernando Northbound were seeing light traffic.
At the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway Main Toll Plaza B was experiencing moderate traffic, while light traffic was reported along Skyway Stage 3 (Buendia to Balintawak) and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Heavy traffic was also observed in some portions of the Maharlika Highway in Quezon province.—RF, GMA Integrated News
