Marcos to Filipino Christians: Emulate Jesus' life
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Easter Sunday urged Filipino Christians to ''live a Christ-like life” as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
“Today, we remember the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus Christ to humanity—that he will rise again and deliver eternal salvation for all,” Marcos said in a statement.
He also reminded the public that faith, devotion, and sacrifice are worthy ideals that ''yield great rewards both here on earth and [in] the hereafter.''
“Let us draw inspiration from this important narrative as we overcome our personal and spiritual challenges. May this day also excite our hearts to live a Christ-like life, especially in sharing our blessings in whatever form [with] the poor, the sick, and the downtrodden,” he added.
Marcos also called on the Catholic faithful to unite in praying for the continued guidance of God to build a better country.
Christians around the world observe Holy Week as a way to remember Christ's final days prior to His resurrection on Easter.
