Marcos says PH interested in Czech's mineral processing expertise
PRAGUE—President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged the Czech Republic to invest in the critical minerals of the Philippines.
During the Philippines-Czech Republic Business Forum at the Czernin Palace, Marcos underscored that the Czech Republic's expertise in mineral processing is of particular interest to the Philippines.
"We invite Czech companies to invest in the processing of our critical minerals, offering a robust diversification plan that can mitigate the risks of global supply chain disruptions as we have seen in the recent years," said Marcos.
"As we look to the future, we eagerly anticipate welcoming Czech Republic companies to further discussions and potential industry cooperation during the upcoming Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation this July," he added.
Marcos said the upcoming event would be an opportunity to deepen the dialogue and explore new partnerships between the two nations.
"So, let us embrace this forum as a starting point for a journey filled with opportunities, and challenges, but also triumphs," Marcos said.
"With mutual respect and understanding, we can forge a partnership that not only benefits our nations, but also contributes to the broader goals of peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond," he added.
Marcos is in Prague for a state visit that aims to deepen relations between the two countries. He will be back in Manila on Saturday. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
