Diplomats tour Palace's mansions
The Marcos administration has welcomed diplomats at the Goldenberg Mansion and Teus Mansion as part of the government's effort to strengthen the country's history and culture.
The Presidential Communications Office on Thursday said a guided tour of the country’s most historic homes inside Malacañang compound was organized for the diplomats who are assigned to the Philippines.
The tour was a showcase of Filipino culture and is part of the ongoing efforts of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. to restore and preserve Philippine heritage sites, according to the PCO.
The tour continued to Bahay Ugnayan, which is a museum that showcases the President's road to Malacañang.
The three historic homes have been restored as museums, which are open to the public and free of charge.
There was also a surprise visit to the newly restored Laperal Mansion, considered as the crown jewel of the group of residences.
The Laperal Mansion is set to serve as the official presidential guest house for foreign heads of state or government.
In May of last year, Marcos led the opening of the "Malacañang Heritage Tours.''
The PCO had said the Malacañang Heritage Tours would "provide a unique opportunity for individuals seeking a deeper appreciation for the remarkable past and distinguished leaders of the Philippines."
"It stands as a must-see attraction, offering an engaging and enlightening experience that delves into the rich tapestry of Philippine history," the PCO said.—Anna Felicia Bajo/AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
