Man who had petroleum jelly in genitals consults doctor with help of GMA Kapuso Foundation

A construction worker from Cagayan was helped by the GMA Kapuso Foundation in consulting with a doctor after he started feeling the consequences of injecting petroleum jelly into his genital area.

According to “24 Oras,” report Friday, Dante, not his real name, is now regretting his decision to inject petroleum jelly in his private part 17 years ago.

At first, he was satisfied with the results, but in 2021, he started feeling discomfort

“Mahapdi tsaka kumikirot. Nagkasugat-sugat pa noon.Minsan, parang hindi ko na maihakbang ‘yung paglakad ko,” he said.

According to Dr. Hector Santos, “Dante” developed a penile granuloma.

“Nagkaroon siya ng tinatawag na granuloma sa penis or penile granuloma from a foreign body injection. Mga huling dalawa o tatlong taon, medyo masakit na dahil namuo na ‘yung mga ininject sa kaniya na petroleum jelly. The only treatment that I could advise now is to do a surgical excision, nung granuloma na ‘yon,” Dr. Hector Santos said.

“Ang kondisyon na ‘to hindi naman nakakamatay kaya lang, meron ‘yung iba nagkakaroon ng chronic infection sa pag-ihi at sa pagdaloy ng ihi. So, long term effect niya, nasisira ang kidney,” he continued.

For those who are interested to help, GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
