Majority of Filipinos think PH headed in the right direction —OCTA


The majority of Filipinos in the country agree that the Philippines is headed in the right direction, according to a recent OCTA research survey.

The Tugon ng Masa 2024 survey for Q1 determined that 64% of adult Filipinos expressed the sentiment, while 21% thought otherwise.

The respondents' view was based on the policies, programs articulated, and actions of the current administration.

The survey fieldwork was conducted from December 10-14, 2023, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 respondents.  They were asked: Is the Country Headed in the Right Direction?

This survey has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. The subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following margins of error at a 95% confidence level: ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The survey is non-commissioned.

Majority of the agreement that the country is in the right path came from Filipinos living in the National Capital Region (NCR) with an 81% score.

Similar opinions from Visayas followed closely at 72%, Mindanao at 62%, and Balanced Luzon at 57%.

The December results remained stable compared to the October 2023 survey, where 62% said the country is on the right path.

The latest survey showed that 76% of Filipinos in the economic Class ABC responded that the Philippines was also going in the right direction.

Filipinos aged 75 and above had a 77% response agreeing to the statement, while those aged 18 to 24% had a more negative outlook. the survey added.

Across educational attainment, those with college or postgraduate education had the highest percentage of adult Filipinos who think that the country is headed in the right direction at 71%, while the lowest percentage is among those without formal education or elementary education only at 61%. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
