Imee steers clear of drugs issue between Duterte, Marcos

Senator Imee Marcos on Tuesday distanced herself from the exchange of drug accusations by her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and her “friend” former President Rodrigo Duterte.

"Naku! 'Di na ako kasali doon. Bahala na sila. Kayang-kaya na nila 'yun," Senator Marcos said in an ambush interview.

(I'm not part of that. Let them deal with that. They can handle that by themselves.)

Asked if she was hurt by Duterte's accusation against her brother, she said, "Nakakaloka. 'Yun lang ang masasabi ko (It's crazy. That's all I can say)."

Senator Marcos was in Davao City on Sunday to attend a prayer rally where Duterte publicly called her brother “bangag” (high) and accused him of being a drug addict.

In response, President Marcos said Duterte's statement was perhaps due to the fact that he is taking fentanyl, which he said is "highly addictive" and has "very serious side effects." —KBK, GMA Integrated News
