PNP: No document, list implicating Marcos to drugs
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday that it has not seen any document or list stating President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr.'s involvement to illegal drugs.
''On the part of the PNP, we have not seen any document or list na nandoon ang pangalan ng ating Presidente (or list that contains the name of our President),'' PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo told reporters.
Earlier, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was known for his bloody war against narcotics, accused Marcos of being a drug addict and included in the drug watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during his term.
However, PDEA issued a statement saying that Marcos was never on its drug watch list.
Before leaving for Vietnam, Marcos responded to the claims made by his predecessor, saying that this was due to Duterte's intake of Fentanyl.
Marcos said his predecessor's physicians should take care of him.
