Romualdez urges Pinoys to support Bagong Pilipinas rally

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez urged the public to join and express their support for the Bagong Pilipinas kick-off rally.

In a statement, Romualdez said the event, “marks the beginning of a transformative journey toward a better Philippines, not just for us but, more importantly, for our children.”

He emphasized that the event is a call for Filipinos to unite.

“Unity has always been the bedrock of any successful endeavor, and in the pursuit of a better future for our country, it becomes even more crucial,” Romualdez said.

“The Bagong Pilipinas campaign is a call for unity, a rallying cry for every Filipino to come together, transcending differences and working hand in hand for a brighter and more prosperous tomorrow,” he added.

Romualdez said that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., his cousin, has already emphasized the significance of individual resolutions in contributing to the broader goals of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign.

“Each personal commitment to positive change is a vital building block for the collective progress of our nation,” the Speaker said.

“Various government officials, celebrities and notable personalities are expected to grace the kick-off rally. Their presence reflects a shared commitment to the cause of nation-building, emphasizing that this is a collective effort that involves every sector of our society,” he added.

Albay Representative Joey Salceda, for his part, said Bagong Pilipinas was more than a slogan.

Salceda said it is a program of government that reflects the Marcos administration’s direction to modernization.

“This is reflected in the kind of policies he has prioritized,” Salceda said.

The Albay solon said the country needs this modernizing spirit as it confronts pressing challenges, foremost of which is a global food price crisis.

“This will require the very best efforts from this administration to— from a modernized and climate-resilient domestic agriculture sector, to new diplomatic arrangements with our food trade partners,” Salceda said.

“I am confident that President Marcos has what it takes to act both as a bridge between this country’s past and its future, and as a bulwark against global challenges affecting our people,” he added.—RF, GMA Integrated News
