Quiboloy says he won't submit to Senate probe on alleged sexual abuse

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Wednesday said he will not submit himself to the Senate inquiry into the allegations of sexual abuse made by former members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ against him.

In an audio file posted on the Facebook page Buhay Kingdom 2024, Quiboloy said he would only face the allegations against him before the courts. 

"I will not subject myself to injustices that are done in a cloak of a Senate hearing... I will not subject to any of that, but I will face any of you... I will face you anywhere, anytime in a court of law," Quiboloy said. 

"Just do it. If you cannot do that, you are all bogus, you are all false. You don't deserve my respect because you don't respect my personal rights. I will not also respect your office as a senator," he added.

He said the witness with the alias Amanda should not have been allowed to testify in the Senate inquiry.

“‘Yung alias Amanda. ‘Yan po ay nagdemanda na ‘yan, ng ganong din mga allegations at iyan ay sinagot po namin. Sinagot ko at ‘yan ay na-dismiss sa korte ng Davao kaya tumakbo sila sa DOJ. Dismissable po, kahit anong tignin ninyo,” Quiboloy said.

“Hindi niyo na po dapat na kinuhang witness ‘yan, kasi ‘yan ay gumawa na ng hakbang na mag-demanda at iyan ay napatotoohanang puro kasinungalingan ang pinagsasabi niya,” he added.

“Sa inyong hearing, wala kaming dapat patotohanan diyan e. Sila, they have nothing to lose, kami dito pagpi-piyestahan niyo hindi namin papayagan ‘yun,” said Quiboloy.

Quiboloy suggested that senators help the aggrieved file cases.

“Tulungan niyo silang pumunta sa korte, magdemanda kayo para sila ay makakakamit ng hustisyang sinasabi ninyo ay dapat nilang hanapin. Hindi po basta-basta maga-akusa kayo lalo na sa isang taong katulad ko, na international ang reputasyon ay gaganunin-ganunin nalang ninyo ako,” he said. 

(Help them go to court and file a case to get the justice you say they are seeking. You can't just accuse someone like me, who has an international reputation, and treat me that way.)

Hontiveros challenged Quiboloy to show up in the Senate hearing. 

"Kung handa na siya, magpakita na lang siya sa Senado," she said. 

(If he's ready, show up in the Senate.)

"Siya ang sentro ng mga paratang ng mga biktima kaya siya ang dapat sumagot," she added.

In December, Hontiveros filed proposed Senate Resolution 884 that seeks to investigate the accusations against KOJC in aid of legislation to "allow us to determine whether our updated human trafficking laws are able to cover large-scale and systemic acts of trafficking done under the cover of a religious organization."

In a privileged speech last year, Hontiveros revealed accounts of victims who were allegedly exploited or sexually abused by Quiboloy.

Responding to the resolution, Quiboloy's legal counsel dared Hontiveros to bring the allegations to the proper courts and dismissed the Senate probe as a mere "deception." —NB, GMA Integrated News
