Marcos: I’ve yet to talk to Sara about political plans
''She's testing the waters.''
This was the response of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. when asked about the pronouncement of Vice President Sara Duterte that she will run again for office.
Marcos said he has not talked to Duterte regarding her political plans.
''I think she's also testing the waters to see what the reaction will be. That's the only thing I can... I haven't talked to her about it, ang pinaka—'did you hear that Inday Sara announced...' yes... okay, that's it. 'What do you think she'll do?' O ayan na, stop it, stop it, we'll talk about it later,'' Marcos said in an exclusive interview with GMA Integrated News' Pia Arcangel that aired on 24 Oras.
According to a report on 24 Oras by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's Jandi Esteban, Duterte made the statement during a speech at an event in Davao City.
"I heard my brothers, Mayor Baste and Congressman Pulong, say that they will not run in the next election, so I am here today to campaign with you because I will run in the next election," she had said in Bisaya, referring to Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte and Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte.
Duterte did not say what position she plans to run for, but her term as vice president ends in 2028.
The next elections will be held in 2025 for Senate, congressional, and local seats. — BM, GMA Integrated News
