Marcos attends Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei’s wedding

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos on Sunday attended the wedding celebration of Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei at the Istana Nurul Iman royal palace in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Mateen, the 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, married his commoner fiancee Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah last Thursday, but the 10-day-long wedding celebrations reached their climax on Sunday with a glittering ceremony in the 1,788-room palace attended by international royalty and political leaders.

In photos on her official Facebook account, the First Lady posted photos of the event, showing her and her husband seated in a row of guests that included King Jigme and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Long one of Asia's most eligible bachelors, Mateen, 32, represented his country in polo at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, held in the Philippines.

His 29-year-old bride is the daughter of one of the sultan's advisers and is said to own a fashion brand and a tourism business.
