VP Sara highest in trust, approval ratings among top 4 officials in Pulse Asia poll


Vice President Sara Duterte scored the highest approval and trust ratings among the four highest public officials in the country with 74% and 78%, respectively, the latest Pulse Asia survey showed.

The survey, conducted from December 3 to 7, 2023, showed Duterte's approval rating slightly improving by one percentage points compared with her 73% approval score in September 2023.

The same poll also showed that her trust rating also slightly increased at 78% compared with 75% in September 2023.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. finished second behind Duterte with 68% and 73% approval and trust ratings, respectively. These scores are an improvement compared with his September 2023 numbers of 65% and 71%, respectively.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, for his part, settled for 49% approval and 51% trust rating. His 49% approval rating in December 2023 is lower than his September 2023 score of 50%. His 51% trust rating, however, is an  increase from his September 2023 trust rating score of 49%.

Speaker Martin Romualdez scored the lowest approval rating among the four officials at 39%, which is lower than his 41% score in September 2023. His trust rating, however, is up to 40% from 38% in September 2023.

Pulse Asia’s non-commissioned December survey was conducted on 1,200 adults aged 18 years old and above. It has a ± 2.8% error margin at the 95% confidence level.

Subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following error margins at 95% confidence level: ± 5.7% for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.  —KBK, GMA Integrated News
