DOH logs 521 new COVID-19 cases
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 521 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total nationwide tally to 4,135,345 cases.
According to the latest DOH COVID-19 bulletin, there are a total of 5,757 active cases nationwide. Since Wednesday, 816 recoveries and no new deaths were reported.
Total recoveries stood at 4,062,775, while total deaths was at 66,813.
The DOH bulletin listed the National Capital Region as the region with the most number of new cases over the past 14 days with 2,616, followed by CALABARZON with 1,032, Western Visayas with 643, Central Luzon with 495, and Cagayan Valley with 210 cases.
During the same period, the cities or provinces with the highest number of new cases was Quezon City with 725 cases, followed by Rizal with 332, Iloilo with 290, Cavite with 251, and Makati with 242.
As of Wednesday, a 15.8% average bed occupancy rate was reported by over 1,884 facilities with 15,026 vacant beds—1,794 of which are in ICUs. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
