Philippines records 440 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines logged 440 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the country's total COVID-19 infections since the start of the pandemic to 4,131,111.

This is the 13th reporting day of at least 180 daily new cases, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

The Department of Health's COVID-19 tracker also showed that active cases increased by 193 to 5,091, the highest tally in 96 reporting days since July 23's 5,121 active cases.

Recoveries rose by 247 cases to 4,059,225, while the death toll remains at 66,795.

 

The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days is the National Capital Region with 2,059, followed by Calabarzon with 802, Western Visayas with 505, Central Luzon with 350, and Central Visayas with 139.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City reported the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 592, followed by Rizal province with 252, Makati City with 210, Cavite province with 207, and Iloilo province with 207.

COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 16.2%, with 2,989 beds occupied—including 1,958 in the ICU—and 15,486 vacant. — BM, GMA Integrated News
