Latest batch of 37 OFWs repatriated from Israel arrive home - DMW

A total of 37 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Israel arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday, bringing the total number of repatriates to 413.

According to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Tuesday evening, the group is the 13th batch of repatriates and is composed of 31 caregivers and 6 hotel workers from the Jewish state which is now in the middle of a war against Hamas militants in Gaza.

In line with the Philippine government’s voluntary repatriation program, each OFW has received P125,000 cash aid from DMW, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), along with Training and Capacity Enhancement vouchers, as well as Noche Buena grocery items from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The repatriates will also be receiving additional assistance from Technical Education, Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Based on a 24 Oras report by Raffy Tima on Tuesday, the returning repatriates are part of a Christmas exodus at NAIA this December.

The repatriates arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 at 6:30 p.m. and were welcomed by DMW, OWWA and DOLE officials.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
