Over 800 applicants hired in DOLE job fair


In the first three days of the activity, a total of 806 jobseekers were hired on the spot at the nationwide job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).


The agency reported Thursday that 6,138 jobseekers went to the job fair during the same period.


Out of this figure, 440 applicants were referred to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for skills training; 290 were referred to the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns for livelihood assistance; and 167 were referred to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for entrepreneurship development. Meanwhile, onsite government services were availed by 2,056 others.


As per DOLE's update on Thursday, 41,593 other vacancies were still available at the following job fairs:

National Capital Region
·      Malabon Sports Complex, Malabon City (December 6)
·      Vista Mall, Taguig City (December 6)
·      Barangay Hall, Barangay Poblacion, Pateros (December 7)
·      Barangay Sta. Ana, Pateros (December 7)

Ilocos Region
·      Pangasinan Provincial Capitol, Lingayen (December 7)

Western Visayas
·      SM City Iloilo, Iloilo City (December 7)
 
Central Visayas
·      Poblacion, Madridejos, Cebu (December 6)
·      SM Seaside, Cebu City (December 8)
 
SOCCSKSARGEN
·      Notre Dame of Marbel University (December 14)


The nationwide job fair was organized by DOLE in celebration of its 90th anniversary, with at least 340 employers for domestic and overseas jobs participating nationwide.


Jobseekers are asked to provide the necessary application requirements, such as updated resume, certificate of employment, diploma, transcript of records, and training certificates, among others. - VDV, GMA Integrated News
