Marcos names DOTr exec Chavez as presidential assistant for strategic comms


President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has appointed Transportation undersecretary Cesar Chavez as Presidential Assistant for Strategic Communications, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced Wednesday.

Prior to his appointment, Chavez served as the Undersecretary for Railways of the Department of Transportation under the Marcos administration.

Aside from Chavez, other new appointees were:

  • Mary Jean Pacheco, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) undersecretary;
  • Michel Kristian Ablan, DTI assistant secretary; and
  • Jeremy Regino, Department of Transportation undersecretary.

Chavez also served as chief of staff of former Manila mayor Isko Moreno. He quit in October 2021 to serve as a radio station manager.

He also previously served as Transportation official during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte.—Llanesca Panti/AOL, GMA Integrated News
