Ted Herbosa gets CA panel nod as DOH secretary

The Commission on Appointments' (CA) Committee on Health on Tuesday recommended the confirmation of the ad interim appointment of Dr. Teodoro Herbosa as Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH). 

This came after Camarines Sur Representative Lray Villafuerte Jr., the CA majority floor leader, moved to endorse Herbosa’s confirmation as DOH secretary to the Senate plenary. 

Panel chairperson Senator Bong Go approved the motion.

It was the CA’s second hearing on Herbosa’s ad interim appointment, months after he was bypassed in September due to “lack of material time.”

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has reappointed Herbosa as DOH chief. 

Herbosa was first appointed for the position in June, replacing then DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
