OCTA: 85% of Filipinos aware of AFP satisfied with its accomplishments

Eighty-five percent of adult Filipinos who are aware of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were satisfied with the military forces’ overall accomplishments in the third quarter of 2023, results of a recent commissioned survey by the OCTA Research showed.

Based on the survey conducted from September 30 to October 4, about 89% of adult Filipinos have ever heard, read, or watched anything about the AFP.

Of the number, 57% said they were “somewhat satisfied” by the overall accomplishments of the AFP, while 28% said they were “very satisfied.”

Twelve percent, meanwhile, said they could not say if they were satisfied or dissatisfied with AFP, and 2% said they were “somewhat dissatisfied.”

OCTA said that this resulted in AFP’s net satisfaction rating of +83 in the third quarter of 2023.

The AFP’s net satisfaction rating was seen highest in the Visayas at +93 and lowest in the National Capital Region (NCR) at +69.

Particularly, OCTA said that all adult Filipinos in the Bicol region and Zamboanga Peninsula were satisfied with the AFP’s overall accomplishments.

Its net satisfaction rating was lowest in the Ilocos Region at +67 and the NCR at +69.

It was also highest among adult Filipinos belonging to Class E (+85) and lowest among adult Filipinos belonging to Class ABC (+73).

Adult Filipinos in rural areas also had higher net satisfaction rating for the AFP at +92, as compared to those in urban areas at +75.

Adult Filipinos with no formal education or only finished elementary education also had the highest net satisfaction rating for the AFP at +91, while those with vocational education had the lowest at +53.

The survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide. It has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.—Giselle Ombay/AOL, GMA Integrated News
