PH logs 194 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippines logged 194 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest number in four days.

The total nationwide caseload is now at 4,122,658, according to the Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker. 

Active cases decreased to 3,093, while there were 203 new recoveries bringing the total to 4,052,819 recoveries.

The death toll remains at 66,746.

COVID-19 is a communicable viral infection caused by a new strain of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus.

Among regions, the National Capital Region logged the most cases in the past 14 days with 625, followed by CALABARZON with 291, Central Luzon with 224, Western Visayas with 118, and Davao Region with 106.

Meanwhile, Quezon City reported the most new cases among the cities and provinces with 183, followed by Cavite with 97, Rizal with 81, Laguna with 69, and Makati City with 64. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
