Gunmen in Nueva Ecija bus killing not in rogues’ gallery —police


The two gunmen in the Nueva Ecija bus shooting that left two people dead were not in the rogues’ gallery of the police, according to the Provincial Police Office (PPO) said on Friday.

“No,” Nueva Ecija PPO public information officer Police Captain Franklin Sindac told GMA News when asked if the two gunmen were in the rogues’ gallery.

According to Sindac, the investigation on the possible motives and person of interest is still ongoing.

He also said that they are now looking for more witnesses.

The video of the shooting incident which was captured on a CCTV camera has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the suspects can be seen shooting the two victims in the head and neck at close range. After shooting the victims,

The victims were identified as a 60-year old female from Cauayan, Isabela and a 55-year old male from South Cotabato.

Based on the police report, the bus was traversing a mountainous part of Barangay Minuli, Carranglan when the two suspects shot the victims at 12:50 p.m. on November 15.

According to the police, the son of the female victim is a possible person of interest .

“Medyo malalim po yung naging alitan ng mag-ina maliban po dito sa alleged na pagfa-file ng kaso ng carnapping, but I'm not at liberty to discuss the other details para di po macompromise yung ongoing investigation,” said Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, chief of the PNP Public Information Office,

(There’s a deeply-rooted conflict between the mother and son aside from the alleged filing of carnapping, but I’m not at liberty to discuss the other details so that the ongoing investigation will not be compromised,)

The son has denied involvement in the fatal shooting during the inquiry of police investigators. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
