Marcos meets Timor-Leste's Ramos-Horta in Malacañang
Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta met President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.at Malacañang Palace for their bilateral meeting.
Marcos welcomed Ramos-Horta at the Palace grounds past 9 in the morning of Friday.
A former journalist and a freedom fighter, Ramos-Horta was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996, together with Bishop Carlos Belo, in recognition of their long-lasting efforts for the peaceful separation of then East Timor from Indonesia.
Ramos-Horta arrived in Manila on Wednesday for a state visit meant to boost the bilateral relations between Timor Leste and the Philippines.
Marcos is set to discuss with Ramos-Horta various areas of cooperation between the two nations such as technical, political, educational, and economic partnerships. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
