Int'l travelers urged to check in early amid Undas exodus
The Bureau of Immigration on Monday reminded international travelers this Undas season to be at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departures.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that the number of travelers is expected to increase due to the long weekend in light of the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
"Early check-in is not just a recommendation; it's a key factor in ensuring smooth immigration procedures. Passengers should make it a priority to complete check-in and proceed directly to the immigration area,” he said.
"While we anticipate some waiting times due to simultaneous arrivals and departures, we have implemented measures to ensure that lines remain manageable," Tansingco said.
The BI strengthened their operations with additional officers, augmentation teams, and mobile counters.
Terminal heads have also been instructed to closely monitor the BI’s operations in the coming weeks to detect and resolve problems immediately. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
