IRR on law granting benefits to dependents of deceased prosecutors signed

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Friday signed a department circular for the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the law granting benefits to dependents of deceased prosecutors.

Under Republic Act 11643, the legitimate spouse and dependent children of a deceased retired member of the National Prosecution Service will be eligible to receive all accrued retirement benefits that a deceased prosecutor ought to have received if they were still alive.

Remulla said the IRR is a testament to his commitment and support for all the prosecutors in the Department of Justice.

“In return, I ask for nothing more than for our prosecutors to do justice to every Filipino by enforcing the law without fear or favor, with integrity, fairness, and promptness, and by ensuring due process, protecting human dignity, and upholding human rights,” he said. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
