PNP to go on full alert before BSKE until Undas 2023
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday they would go on full alert at least three days before the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on October 30 and maintain this alert until All Saints’ Day or Undas.
PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the PNP would prepare for both events next week, adding that they had enough manpower for both.
“Itataas na rin natin ang recommendation. Three or four days prior sa election ay itataas na natin sa full alert status ang alert status ng PNP at lalagpas na ‘yan hanggang Undas. Tuloy tuloy ang ating pagbabantay,” Fajardo said in a Super Radyo dzBB interview.
(We will do better than the recommendation. Three or four days before the election, we will raise the alert status of the PNP to full alert status and that will continue until after Undas. Our monitoring will be continuous.)
Fajardo, however, added that extending the full alert status until Christmas Day depended on the assessment of the field commanders.
“Ang ating mga regional directors naman ay may discretion to adjust their alert status depending on the political and crime environment sa kani-kanilang lugar,” she explained.

Fajardo also said that PNP personnel were no longer allowed to go on leave starting the second week of December up until January 2024. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
