Marcos to promoted PNP generals: Uphold highest standards of ethics, human rights

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged the newly promoted star rank officials of the Philippine National Police to uphold the highest standards of ethics and human rights.

Marcos administered the oath taking of the newly promoted PNP generals at the Malacañang Palace on Wednesday

"As officials, you are responsible for ensuring that all PNP personnel uphold the highest standards of ethics, professionalism and respect for human rights," Marcos said in his speech.

"I also expect that you will lead by example so that every officer and member under your commands will adhere to these same principles," Marcos added.

Marcos reiterated that under his administration, there would be zero-tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses.

He further stressed that the foundation of an effective law enforcement is public trust, rooted in constant and open public engagement.

"Thus it is incumbent upon you our new generals to prioritize dialogue, collaboration and cooperation within the communities that you serve," Marcos said.

"You must likewise nurture a bond of mutual respect and support with the people who have faith and confidence in their police force," he added.

Last week, Marcos also administered the oath taking of promoted star rank police officers wherein he warned that there would be no room for cops who will tarnish the reputation of the organization. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
