Teachers training for pilot run of revised K-10 curriculum completed –DepEd
The Department of Education’s (DepEd's) Curriculum and Teaching Strand said Sunday it completed the training of teachers whose schools will participate in the pilot implementation of the recalibrated Kindergarten to Grade 10 (K-10) curriculum in basic education.
The pilot run of the new MATATAG K-10 curriculum will start on Monday, September 25 in 35 schools nationwide.
“Strengthening of expertise among teachers through collaborative activities like LAC (Learning Action Cell) sessions are already in place to aid teachers in the delivery of teaching-learning process,” the DepEd strand said in a message to reporters.
DepEd said schools and division offices that would be part of the implementation, monitoring, and assessment had also been oriented.
Fund support for the pilot implementation was also downloaded to the participating regions.
“Lesson exemplars and learning activity sheets will be utilized including all readily available learning resources mapped and aligned with the competencies of the revised curriculum,” the DepEd strand added.
Based on the list provided by DepEd to members of the media, five of the participating schools are in the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly in Malabon City.
Five schools each from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Caraga will also join the pilot implementation.
DepEd Deputy Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas earlier said that DepEd would consolidate all the findings and results of this pilot run in preparation for the phased implementation in the coming years. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
