PAOCC: Pasay POGO workers to be deported on Friday

Around 80 individuals from a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) firm that was raided in Pasay City in August will be deported on Friday.

According to Jhomer Apresto’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, this was confirmed by Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz.

Cruz said this is the first batch of the deportation.

From the Rivendell POGO hub, they will be transported from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 to Nanning City, China.

This was confirmed by Atty. Gloria Quintos, the legal counsel of some of the POGO workers, to GMA News Online.

When sought for comment, Quintos said she was “very sad” about the development.

“I just feel sad kaya di ko na inalam if may na add pa sa 76 and naging 80. Most of them [are] my clients,” Quintos said.

[I just feel sad so I no longer attempted to find out if more was added to the 76 that was going to be deported and it became 80. Most of them are my clients.]

Meanwhile, the next hearing for the complaint filed against 29 of the POGO workers will be on September 27, Wednesday.
