Marcos arrives in Singapore for Asian Conference
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. arrived in Singapore around noon on Wednesday for the 10th Asian Conference.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil confirmed this to reporters, saying that the President will have his speaking engagements.
Marcos is celebrating his 66th birthday today, September 13.
Before business leaders and economic managers, he will discuss the country's priority policies and programs in a 30-minute talk called “A Conversation with the President of the Republic of the Philippines.”
Marcos will be the first sitting Philippine leader to address the Milken Institute's Asia Summit, the PCO said.
Upon the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Marcos will also attend the finals of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2023.
Last year, Marcos' attendance at the event was criticized by the public.
The President, however, said the event was the best way to drum up business. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
