Marcos orders reorganization of Strategic Action and Response office


President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has directed the reorganization of  the Strategic Action and Response (STAR) office to ensure the coherence of its organizational structure and functions.

To recall, the STAR office of the Cabinet Secretary was established to promote timely action and response on the concerns of the public.

In his Executive Order No. 38, Marcos said The Office of the Executive Secretary, through the Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration (ODESGA), shall have supervision and control over the STAR Office and all its constituent offices.

Further, Marcos directed the abolition of the Cabinet Undersecretary position in the STAR office.

"The STAR office shall now be headed by an Assistant Secretary who shall directly report to the Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration (DESGA)," the EO stated.

The EO also indicated that the DESGA shall have continuing authority to assess and evaluate the organizational structure, staffing pattern, and corresponding qualification standards for all positions under the STAR Office.

“For this purpose, the DESGA, in coordination with the Office of the Deputy Secretary for Finance and Administration, shall submit to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), for review and approval, a revised organizational structure and staffing pattern of the STAR Office,” the EO said.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
